Hillary Burns and I. She treated me like gold but I was too young to understand the word commitment.

Audrey Anderson taught me the meaning of flight and made me read Jonathan Livingston Seagal till I understood it. 20 years later I named my son after that bird and the book is the philosophy of my life.

Prior to my first real career job, I worked as a college student temp. Everyday or every week I had a different part time assignment. I worked for at least 100 different companies by the time I was 22. After the US Air Force, I got another part time job as a merchandiser for a food broker. I did this for 10 years and several job titles. Once a year the big boss, Dean Billings, would send the top sales guy to the Palm restraunt in Beverly Hills. (a big deal in those days for celeberties). The Winner would also get $500, just to the tip the waiter. Honor sure looked forward to that each year.
|
This was the guy who hired me, my boss Michael Sachs. He was such a great man. He loved and hated me because i won every single sales contest the company had for 5 years in a row without wearing a tie! And we had a contest every single week. Mike taught me that a salesman sells it and a whore gives it away...
|

After the Air force, I moved to Santa Monica. The place is as beautiful as its name sounds.
